Raleigh, North Carolina: Jim Madden of Chesapeake Renewable Energy helped to erect a Bergey XL.1 1-kilowatt wind turbine at the North Carolina Solar Center. The installation was part of a training workshop for  students from NC State, Appalachian State and James Madison Universities as well as wind power enthusiasts from the region. 

The day-long project provided a great opportunity for hands-on experience and camaraderie among renewable energy enthusiasts.  Tour our photo gallery of the event.

Harrisonburg, Virginia: Chesapeake Renewable Energy helped James Madison University and the Virginia Wind Energy Collaborative install their first wind turbine at the JMU College of Integrated Science and Technology.  Chesapeake Renewable Energy provided the Bergey XL.1 turbine and assisted VWEC staff with the installation of the turbine on an existing 27 meter tower just off I-81. 

The turbine will help JMU and VWEC to promote the growth of small wind systems throughout Virginia. Tour our
